A2N-Uganda puts emphasis on health and environmen- tal sanitation issues because it recognizes the fact that they are contributory factors influencing household pov- erty, acting as both causes and effects. Trainings are therefore carried out in homestead hygiene including the need for kitchen structures, plate racks, hand washing facilities, boiling drinking water, pit latrines, rubbish pits, importance of nutritious foods, construction of improved cook stoves, disease prevention and the relationship between nutrition and sanitation.
