Empowering Farmers to Improve Food Security and Incomes
A2N-Uganda has supported more than 100,000 farmers through practical agricultural development initiatives. Farmers have benefited from improved food security, better farming practices and more regular household incomes.
Through field offices, farmer-to-farmer learning and thousands of Trainers of Trainers, agricultural knowledge has reached communities across Uganda.
Building Sustainable Change Beyond Projects
A2N-Uganda works to ensure that development gains continue beyond the life of individual projects. Successful activities have been integrated into district development plans in several parts of Uganda.
The organization has also supported farmer groups and associations to establish community libraries and created a Resource Centre containing valuable agricultural and rural development information.
Giving Farmers a Stronger Voice
A2N-Uganda recognizes that rural poverty is influenced by more than agricultural production. Communities face challenges such as alcoholism, food theft and insecure land tenure.
The organization supports farmer groups to identify these challenges, advocate for solutions and participate in policy discussions affecting their livelihoods.
