A2N-Uganda shares the understanding that HIV/AIDS is a life threatening disease with social, economic and human rights implications. It is also a development matter as it affects the ability of households to secure adequate food. All partner farmer organisations are there- fore sensitized about HIV/AIDS and family life. The top- ics handled during the training included: (1) mode of HIV/AIDS transmission; (2) impact of HIV/AIDS and pos- sible interventions; (3) support to HIV/AIDS positive people and promotion for better health; (4) important as- pects about HIV/AIDS; (5) psycho-social care, care for children with HIV/AIDS; and (6) correct condom use while training in family life includes joint decision making, plan- ning and budgeting
