From Farmer Training to Improved Household Incomes

A2N-Uganda established field offices in its districts of operation, enabling its teams to work closely with farming families and understand their everyday challenges. Rather than relying only on conventional extension approaches, the organization promoted farmer-to-farmer learning, training and engaging thousands of Trainers of Trainers (ToTs) who have gone on to share knowledge and skills with other farmers in their communities.

Through this approach, farmers have gained access to improved farming techniques, new technologies and practical advisory services. A2N-Uganda has promoted more than 15 innovative technologies and approaches, helping farming communities improve production and strengthen their livelihoods.

The organization has also produced and distributed more than 1,000 copies of practical farming handbooks, making useful agricultural knowledge accessible to farmers beyond the direct reach of its field teams.

This combination of local presence, farmer-led learning and practical information has enabled A2N-Uganda to reach communities at scale and contribute to lasting improvements in food security and household incomes.
