Supporting Over 100,000 Farmers

A2N-Uganda has supported more than 100,000 farmers, helping them improve food security, agricultural productivity and establish more regular sources of household income.

Establishing Field Offices

Field offices have been established in districts of operation, allowing A2N-Uganda teams to work directly with smallholder farming families and respond to local development needs.

Promoting Farmer-to-Farmer Learning

A2N-Uganda has promoted farmer-to-farmer training and engaged thousands of Trainers of Trainers (ToTs) who help share agricultural knowledge and skills with other farmers in their communities.

Sustaining Development Through District Planning

A2N-Uganda has successfully closed out projects in an orderly manner while advocating for successful project activities to be integrated into district development plans. This has included districts such as Kabale, Kanungu, Arua, Bundibugyo, Gulu, Kabarole, Kasese, Kitgum, Masaka, Mpigi, Rakai, Kassanda and Kyegegwa.

Promoting Innovation and New Technologies

More than 15 novel technologies and innovations have been promoted to help farmers improve agricultural production and strengthen rural livelihoods.

Strengthening Farmer Advocacy

A2N-Uganda has identified agricultural and rural development challenges requiring policy intervention, including alcoholism, food theft from granaries and land tenure security, and has supported farmer groups to advocate for solutions.

Partnering with the Government of Uganda

A2N-Uganda has been contracted by the Government of Uganda to implement various development projects, reflecting the organization's experience and capacity in community-based development.

Sharing Practical Farming Knowledge

More than 1,000 copies of handbooks on farming techniques have been produced and distributed to farmers, helping extend practical agricultural knowledge to more communities.

Supporting Community Libraries

A2N-Uganda has assisted 50 groups and associations to establish community libraries stocked with relevant practical information and learning materials.

Establishing a Resource Centre

A Resource Centre was established at the A2N-Uganda Head Office, providing access to more than 1,000 publications, 30 videotapes and 12 audio cassettes covering agriculture and rural development.
