A2N-Uganda\u2019s impact goes beyond the implementation of individual development projects. Over the past 31 years, the organization has demonstrated that successful development initiatives can continue to benefit communities even after external project funding comes to an end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A2N-Uganda has developed a deliberate approach to orderly project close-out<\/strong>, working with district authorities to ensure that successful project activities and approaches are integrated into local government development plans. This has helped sustain achievements in districts including Kabale, Kanungu, Arua, Bundibugyo, Gulu, Kabarole, Kasese, Kitgum, Masaka, Mpigi, Rakai, Kassanda and Kyegegwa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The organization has also invested in community knowledge systems. It has supported 50 farmer groups and associations to establish community libraries<\/strong>, stocked with practical information materials relevant to agriculture and rural development. At its Head Office, A2N-Uganda established a Resource Centre containing more than 1,000 publications, 30 videotapes and 12 audio cassettes<\/strong>, creating an important repository of knowledge and learning materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n These efforts demonstrate A2N-Uganda\u2019s commitment to ensuring that knowledge and successful development practices remain available to communities long after a project has formally ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n By linking project achievements with district planning structures and strengthening local access to information, A2N-Uganda has helped transform short-term interventions into foundations for longer-term community development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" A2N-Uganda\u2019s impact goes beyond the implementation of individual development projects.
